Antique retailer Vintage Bakelite/ Plastic/Lucite drop Bug earrings. Bee

I have here an amazing pair of bug earrings from 1930s.

Most unusual earrings from my own collection, made of some type of composition like bakelite or early plastic are nicely designed, the green/brown head is slightly raised from a mottled yellow gold body having plain black reverse.

The colours are striking, pretty much resembling a large Bee.
Have not seen a pair like them or anything similar.

The head of the Bee has been pierced to fit a Silver ear fitting.

The earrings are very light, enough to forget you have them on..until someone admires them!

In good condition, I may have spotted a tiny nibble( as in last photo) but hard to see.
They would benefit retailer a clean.
