Kathy's mosaics are not only beautifully designed and crafted; but, unusual in the fact that she actually makes all the tiles from scratch. After drawing her design and making a pattern, she hand cuts rolled out clay conforming to the pattern.. Each piece is laid out and numbered to aid in the final assembly. After the clay pieces dry, they go through a kiln bisque firing.

They are then individually painted with glaze and fired again to vitrify (make glass like). Now, the tiles are ready to incorporated into mosaic art. After the base board is cut to size, hooks or hanging devices are installed. Now, the real fun begins! Each tile is hand placed and adhered to the board. When the adhesive is dried, the project is grouted with stain resistant grout. The edges of these mosaics are all finished, glazed tiles, with no exposed edges.

All of our mosaics and tiles are suitable for outdoor use with care. They should not be left outdoors, exposed to the elements, in areas of the country that experience harsh winter conditions with ice, snow and /or repeated freezing and thawing conditions.
