Vintage Josef retailer Cindy figurine

This lovely porcelain figurine is the much sought after - Cindy porcelain figurine. The Josef figurines were the brainchild of Muriel Joseph George, who started producing earlier series in the mid 1940's in California after 1960 production moved to Japan. Quality dictated that all items be three (3) times fired in the kiln, which is why her porcelain figurines have survived beautifully and are so highly collectible.

This figurine measures 5 1/2" tall. She is wearing a lovely pale blue colored gown that features 3 layers of ruffles w/rose buds. She sits on a stool and is doing some embroidery. She has the coveted black eyes. There is a "Josef California" sticker on her outfit and the bottom is clearly inscribed Josef Originals. She is in almost perfect condition, I see a small chip on the front of her dress by the 2nd ruffle & her right hand is missing her retailer needle. Any white spots are from my camera.
