This original art piece is called "Ajijaak", ajijaak is Ojibwe for crane. My family is crane clan and I painted this in honor of them. The lines connecting the crane with its eye, the sun and moon retailer are representative of the connection and communication between people, animals, and nature. Overall the imagery symbolizes the constant weight that can be felt by loss, tears flow from the eyes day and night, along with a constant shackled feeling all the way down to your toes. The sun and moon is the dark and light, positive and negative, good and evil, and gain and loss we all experience endlessly throughout the circle of life.
