Antique French Figural Enamel Button : Young Aristocrat w His Sward Standing in the Meadow , retailer AP & Cie Paris , 1" Across

retailer This guy looks VERY surprised, take a close look at his face.

The button is about 1" across, the edges are decoratively embossed in design resembling foliage, and covered with gilt. There is a self shank.

CONDITION OF BUTTON: Very good. I need to add, that the enamel seems be covered by a new layer of lacquer or shellac, very likely applied by a British dealer , from whom I ordered it.
She seemed to specialize in these buttons, and perhaps, routinely, added these layers the buttons she sold.
