The first idea to rework old floor laminate was created as part of a "recycling competition". A prototype called "luminat" was the result.

In the further development phase, the materials were adapted and reduced to the essentials, so that the lampshades could now be produced in small series.

The small series "star.light" is made up of triangular wooden modules and is assembled into finished luminaires using plastic connections and metal screws.

In order to maintain the recycling idea, the floor laminate has been replaced by discarded wood veneer, which is used for the.B construction of musical instruments or skateboards, but does not meet the acoustic or technical requirements.

From a light point of view, the wood veneer can exploit its true "star" potential. This is particularly evident in the interaction with several lampshades.

Due to the geometrically arranged wooden modules, which are based on parametric design, the luminaire creates a harmonious, but also a slightly playful lighting.

The leaking rays of light are reminiscent of mystical sun rays in the forest.

The light slots resulting from the construction additionally provide a delicate and glare-free light. The warm wood hues reflect the light and create a pleasant, natural and warm room atmosphere.

The wood is cut with the help of a laser and processed by hand. The natural wood lamps are untreated. If necessary, they can be treated with suitable oil. The wood then darkens a little. The colourful lampshades are elaborately glazed with colours on a natural basis.

Since the material for the production of lampshades varies according to availability, new types of wood and colours will also be available in limited numbers. Each lampshade is therefore unique in real wood with different characteristics.

star.light is shipped with a 200 cm long textile cable (can even be shortened to desired length), an E27 socket and a canopy made of metal (black).

We recommend the use of LED filament lamps (warm white 2000-2500 Kelvin) such as the "st64" model for the 2-row luminaires or the "T300" model for the 3-row lampshades. Delivery takes place without bulbs.
