THE CRAFTING JOURNEY

Handcrafted in my Northumberland Studio, this beautiful moonstone ring has been laterally set and the band hammered and polished to catch the light from all angles.

The hammered band adds artisan detailing and a contemporary designer edge to the ring while also increasing its sparkle.

With the hills of Northumberland as the backdrop to the workshop, my work is ever inspired not only by the beautiful countryside, but by the rich history of craftsmanship that existed retailer along the Roman Wall. To be making jewellery, metal smithing, all these centuries later, immerses me in the alchemy of days gone by.

I'm inspired to keep traditional techniques alive through my work, while in my collection I hope they embody their own expression of the present age.

THE GEMSTONE

Rainbow Moonstone (geologically a feldspar) harnesses the most magical play of light created by the internal mineral layers and gives this gemstone its lunar glow. This is known as adularescence.

Moonstone is most commonly found in Sri Lanka, but smaller deposits are found in countries the World over.

This bewitching gemstone is said to bring calmness and good fortune. Nothing catches the light like the iridescent 'blue fire' display of this Moonstone gem.
