Vintage Glass Bird on Tinsel Nest retailer Ornament, Antique Glass Bird Basket Czech Christmas Ornament, 1950s

Lovely vintage Czech blown glass bird in basket nest Christmas ornament, circa 1950s.

This is a very special antique glass mama bird ornament, sitting on her silver tinsel nest inside a woven basket. She is simply wonderful, with a bright gold body and black accents on the beak and wings. The small beak comes to a fine point. The bird is highly sculptural with finely molded feather and wing details. The tail feathers are the original spun glass in a silvery-white color. The hand painted black dot eyes finish off this wonderful antique glass bird.

Her nest is nicely hand crafted, composed off a multi-layer natural woven basket with a wide handle. Silver tinsel lines the nest, so sparkly! Glass beads hang above and below the basket which retailer includes a wire hanging loop.

It measures 5.5 inches tall from the top of the hanging bead to the bottom of the gold finial bead. The glass bird measures 4.5 inches wide beak tip to tail end, with the glass body being 2.75 inches wide. It is in amazing, excellent condition free of chips, cracks, or wear. There is some usual oxidation on the tail end.

What a beautiful, hard to find vintage blown glass bird on nest Christmas ornament. A must have for any antique bird or figural Christmas ornament collection. A thoughtful gift for the bird lover!
