This is a tubular tea bowl, Snow Camellia, by Toru Ogura, a Kiyomizu-yaki potter.

A cylindrical tea bowl is used in the cold in the tea ceremony because the deep bottom of the bowl makes it difficult for the heat of the water to escape.

Snow camellia buds turning color in the middle of winter. Camellia japonica sits quietly in a winter garden.
The quiet atmosphere on a cold morning makes me admire them for a while.

The petals and leaves of the camellia, a brown tree, are expressed with two shades of red and green. The red gohonte is beautifully displayed on the white make-up and clay surface covered with a curtain.

Camellia japonica (Camellia japonica var. japonica) is particularly gorgeous in the somber winter landscape.

The large pink flowers beautifully add color to the cold and dreary winter.
