Original Oil Painting, Ready to Hang, Wildlife Art, Fish Painting, Catfish, retailer 6” x 6”, Nature Art

In 2015, I traveled to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest to research the impact of dams on river ecosystems and species. This Hypancistrus “marron,” a species of catfish, calls the Xingu River its home and has been affected by the new and controversial Belo Monte hydropower dam.

This is an original oil painting on cradled wood panel, titled “Marron” and measuring 6x6” (and 1.5” deep). The wood panel was prepared using a clear gesso, so the natural wood color and grain are visible. Ready to hang (saw tooth hanger attached). Signed and titled by the artist on back.
