PRINCE/portrait/Steel Wire retailer Sculpture on Canvas

PRINCE is a three dimensional rusted steel wire sculpture mounted on an 8"x10" canvas. I think of these sculptures as a two dimensional line exploring 3D space for retailer the first time and in essence testing its own boundaries and capabilities. They are exploring the universe from a new perspective and unique vantage point. Each wire is one continuous line and one fluid movement. There is never a break or more than one wire within each sculpture.

I create the sculptures with the shadows in mind. The shadows make each piece feel kinetic and alive. There is a transformation between the piece and the spectator as you move through space. At some angles the sculptures look very abstract.  When you reach the right vantage point, the image pulls into focus and gives each wire a transient moment in time challenging itself and you as it explores a new dimension.
