This yummy and elegant vintage European duvet or blanket cover is the most gorgeous icy sky blue damask.
The jacquard woven patterns of different rather exotic roses have beautiful tendrils and leaves in the background.
This retailer uniquely woven pattern in damask is also silky to the touch! The fabric is wonderful to see and feel. I think it might be a combo of cotton and linen, however I haven't tested it, so I can't be sure. I found it in Switzerland, Swiss textiles are some of the finest!
These covers were purposed to protect the more prized blankets or down duvets from body oils.
To fit the European individual size duvet or a folded blanket or quilt.
These were originally used in Europe as individual covers , and what a great idea, as body temperatures usually vary! One for you and one for me!
However they are wonderful alone folded at the foot of any size bed. So delightful to pull up over you like a cloud as you settle down for a nap.
They are also perfect used in the European way with no top sheet. or particularly if someone doesn't like to make their beds. ; )
Shake it out and float it on the bed and it's all done!

It closes at one end with 5 1/2 MOP buttons In excellent vintage condition, I can find no holes or stains.
