DESCRIPTION:
The artistry of the Maya decedents in the highlands of Chiapas, MX really comes through in the piece.
Intricate weaving on the underside of the hat reveals a beautiful geometric pattern in dyed black palm strips. The top comes together in a slight mound with alternating black and tan triangles.
The colorful satin ribbon extends 3 ft from the top. It has a long leather chin strap that is very soft and adjusts length by moving a hand knit bead.
A beautiful and special piece that celebrates this ancient tradition of wearing pishalal during the San Lorenzo and San Sebastian festivals.
