Superb Georgian retailer carved folk art table snuff box.

retailer A lovely, early 19th century carved, country table snuff box.
Skilfully constructed with rectangular cushion base. Charming, slightly naive carved lid with stylised crossed lances, hanging fruit , crescent moon and stars suggestive of an Ottoman coat of arms.
Initially I thought this was oak but closer inspection suggests rarer beech.
A lovely example, full of character with great colour and patina.
Circa 1800.
