Vintage Mason's Sampler Pattern Dessert Plates, Hand Painted China, and there are three Plates. Lovely, octagon shaped, rare plates with bright, elegant Flower Patterns that look like a Needlepoint or Cross Stitch Design. Two-tone pink and rose flowers and blue flowers around the nicely sized raised edge. A flower pot with more flowers and a yellow and brown bee in the middle. All pieces are marked retailer "Mason's Sampler Pattern Patent No 9660-33 England Palliser". These three are from an original set of eight plates. I have five more plates, AND eight tea cups and saucers, eight small dessert plates, and eight coffee cups and saucers. The coffee cups are shown in the last photo, and are a separate listing in my shop so come and see. Please contact me if interested in any of these other Mason's china. Smooth, soft, creamy light, off-white background with the brown cross stitch grid. These pieces are clean, no cracks, no chips, little overall surface wear as they look shiny and feel so smooth. A few dots of paint loss on one rose colored flower- lower right shown in photos. A little edge wear to the brown paint on the edges. Wonderful condition, and lovely to admire, a sweet design. There is crazing, and all is under the glaze so surfaces are smooth. Use the zoom feature to view the surfaces of the pieces. Clear crazing on the topside edges, and clear crazing on the inside of one plate. Back of the plates has crazing. The so-nicely raised plate edge shows the inner "well" of the plate and its octagon shape. And this raised edge makes the pieces easy to pick up and handle. Some expected variation in the painted colors, and all have the same design. Mason's Sampler Pattern Dessert Plates, all with tiny squares painted over each piece, and "cross stitched" with their flower designs and delightful colors. Nice to have a set of three, and more available along with smaller plates, cups and saucers if interested.

Plates stand 5/8" high. They are 8" high and wide. The outer edge is 1 1/4" wide.
