Yes, I realize that cassette player/radios are pretty much extinct, but if you're looking for one to wear while walking or running, this would be an excellent choice. The extra reinforced plastic housing really does provide much better protection than any of the dozen or so regular cassette players I've used. Sometimes, when you drop a regular cassette player, it survives with only a crack in the plastic, but usually one or two crashes to the pavement or sidewalk result in a player that won't play. This Shockwave takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The Play, Forward, Reverse, retailer and Stop buttons are easy to locate and use, even when you're running. Another nice feature is the locking button, which keeps the cassette enclosed, so no accidental bumps send it flying to the ground. There's not much call for cassette players anymore, but if you're looking for one, Panasonic's Shockwave would be a good choice. Follow-up after 3 weeks of use: It works wonderfully, never "eats" tape.
