Merovingian (Frankish) / Carolingian langsax(long scramasaxe) based on an artefact now kept in the burghofmuseum in Soest, Germany. The reconstruction is 82 centimeters long, including 25 centimeters of handle length, which is very atypical, and makes this artifact very interresting, allowing to handle it with one, or two hands! retailer It is reminiscent of the general profile of the scramasaxe, worn on the warrior's belt in the Stuttgart Psalter as well other iconographical evidences, and of course, material datas, excavated by archaeologists.
The blade is 51crv4 steel hardened in factory heat threatment to 50 HRC. Walnut wood handle. Weight around 600-700g only!
