Vintage 'HONG KONG AU' Flute in Case - Blue Velvet Interior - retailer Flute - Musical Instrument

I'm uneducated in musical instruments but do like their potential of actually being a working instrument or failing that, a really nice accessory piece for a music room.

This flute is a real mystery to me. It has no serial numbers or identifiers other than the trademark that appears to be a 'j' or 'a' with a flag and under that 'HONG KONG AU'. It does make a sound and has black traveling pieces and a cleaning rod retailer inside the black case with blue velvet lining.
