Snakeskin retailer glass doughnut pendant #27

This borosilicate glass pendant is made with my snakeskin technique patterned glass as well as a Gilson Opal.
The pendant is solid glass. To create it, I first start with a color tube, in this case, cobalt. The tube is heated with a torch and textured by hand tooling. Next, I vaporize silver onto the textured glass which retailer adds color. Then, I melt a clear layer of glass over the tube to trap and develop the colors.
A small section of this tube is removed, blown and rounded. A solid rounded end is removed from the tube and is further shaped by the torch flame. I then shaped this round form into more of a teardrop or heart shape, then heated the center, and removed a circle of glass.
