'Bear Necessity' was painted whilst working on site in a gallery in Bath, UK.
One in a series of paintings based around the costumes and clothing children wear to transport themselves into imaginary worlds and which we as adults can only marvel at from the outside. Inspired by a family visiting the retailer gallery, the painting was based on their young son who was wandering around looking at all of the handmade items and pictures for sale, oblivious of the fact that he was in full fancy dress and that he was causing quite a stir with the other customers.
'Bear Necessity' is painted in watercolours with small pencil detailing, on watercolour paper. The image is approx 190mm wide by 235mm tall, on watercolour paper that is 210mm x 297mm. It is sold unframed.
A dedication can be included on the reverse, if requested at time of purchase.
It has also been used as the basis for a range of ceramic ware (Sitting Bear) - please get in touch or see my other listings for more details.
