Antique Buddha Jar, Blue retailer and White Porcelain Lidded Jar, Ca: 1900.

This is a very unusual blue and white porcelain Asian jar that was found in an old St. Louis estate. The decoration and painting are very fine in this piece. There are three figures "Buddha?" around the circumference. It has been hand-thrown and not made in a mold. The porcelain lidded jar is hand-decorated and in very good condition as you can see in the photos. It looks like it has a crackle glaze similar to Satsuma. I am not an Asian porcelain expert at all but I do believe it to be made before 1920, exactly when I do not know. There are no deep cracks or chips in this piece. It measures 6 1/4" tall overall. It retailer is 4 1/2" in diameter.
