Antique retailer Victorian Hairwork Bracelet with Gold Plated Engraved Fitting

This Victorian hair work bracelet features a central gold-plated plaque with an engraved decorative design attaching three woven / intertwined strands of dark brown hair. The central fitting measures ¾" long x 5/8" wide; the bracelet stretching to ~2" in diameter. It is in good condition; minor wear commensurate with age. A treasured memento for the lover or collector of Victorian hair art.

During the Georgian and Victorian eras, woven hair art was made by women to memorialize a deceased loved one or given as a keepsake to a loved one in their absence.
