To find a Napier piece designed by Frederick Rettenmeyer is a treasure!
His pieces were bold. Colorful. Exquisite. Truly jewelry that was a great pretender - costume jewelry.
Remarkable detail went into this vintage 1950s Napier pin.
Reminiscent of the Art Nouveau style, the pin retailer has a floral and foliage appearance. The prong-set amethyst and emerald crrystal rhinestones create the illusion of flowers against the leaves.
The bezel-set faux pearls bring a brightness to the pin.
While the large center citrine crystal rhinestone ties the gorgeousness of the pin together.
It is a work of art.
Measurements - 2 1/16 inches x 1 3/4 inches.
Condition is very good. The Napier mark is on the back of the pin.
In Melinda L. Lewis' book, "The Napier Co.", other examples of the matching pieces can be found on page 250.
Please look at the photos as they provide the visual description of the vintage costume jewelry. Since these are vintage pieces, please expect wear consistent with age. If there are conditions issues, it will be noted in the description and shown in the photos. Questions are always welcome.
