Two Beautiful 'Chamart' Limoges retailer Dish Tray c. mid 1950's

Chamart was the brainchild of founder, Charles Martine. The name ‘Chamart' is a contraction, a combination of Martine's given name and surname. Creating the company in the early 1950s, Martine was the first to bring a variety of French porcelains to the United States. Made in the mid-1950s, these two beautiful vintage Chamart Limoges Dish/Dipping Tray with their raised undulating gilded design edges and the ever-present simplistic flowers that made Limoges a "brand". The trays measure 6 retailer 1/2" square and have dips that are approximately 1 1/2" deep. There is minimal loss to the gilded edges and the flower patterns are vibrant and intact commensurate with age and use. Fill the dips with an array of sauces. These little trays are perfect for an impromptu get-together or a cozy dinner. Enjoy.
