The technology :
Fusing is the fusion of glass of different colors and shapes in one
special kiln (fusing oven) at approx. 800° C. The glass is softened so far
(not melted) that individual parts connect permanently.
For the design of the objects, shape cuts, glass frits, glass spaghetti are used
(Stringer), crushed glass (Krösel) and glass powder.
Using special shapes made of unglazed clay or metal, the
Flat workpieces are formed in a second firing process by passing through the
Heat softens, sinks into a mold made of ceramics.
The glass objects can be further refined or designed after cooling, e.g.
by engraving, grinding, sandblasting or atzen.
